What are the requirements for gas in gas generator sets?

The gas used in the generator set should undergo pre-treatment (such as filtration, gas-liquid separation, pressure stabilization, etc.) before use. When the temperature is too high, a cooler should also be used for cooling to ensure that there are no liquid components in the gas. The processing flow varies for different gases.

If the gas source pressure is insufficient, although the generator set can start normally, it may not reach the rated power. So before purchasing a unit, users should provide the gas composition and pressure so that the company can provide suitable products. Below are the requirements for 7 types of gas within 1 meter before the gas inlet pressure regulating valve of the gas generator set.

1、 Requirements of the crew for natural gas

1. Natural gas pressure of 100-300kPa (booster) or 50-300kPa (non booster);

2. The methane volume content in natural gas shall not be less than 70%;

3 H2S≤20mg/Nm3；

4. Impurity particle size<5 μ m, impurity content ≤ 30mg/Nm3;

2、 Requirements of the unit for biogas

1. Biogas temperature ≤ 40 ℃;

2. Biogas pressure is 3-10kPa, with a pressure change rate of ≤ 1kPa/min;

3. The methane volume content in biogas is not less than 40%, and the rate of change is ≤ 2%/min;

4 H2S≤200mg/Nm3；

5 NH3≤20mg/Nm3；

6. Impurity particle size ≤ 5 μ m, impurity content ≤ 30mg/Nm3;

7. The moisture content in biogas is ≤ 40g/Nm3.

For biogas with a methane volume content of 30-40%, special configuration of the unit is required. Choose another model of product.

3、 Requirements of the crew for gas

1. Gas temperature ≤ 40 ℃;

2. Gas pressure 3-10kPa, pressure change rate ≤ 1kPa/min;

3. The methane volume content in gas is not less than 9%, and the rate of change is ≤ 2%/min;

4. For gases with methane volume content less than 30%, the sum of methane and oxygen volume content shall not be less than 28%, and the oxygen volume content shall not be less than 16%;

5. Impurity particle size ≤ 5 μ m, impurity content ≤ 30mg/Nm3.

6. The hydrogen sulfide content shall not exceed 200mg/m3.

For gases that exceed the specified range, it is necessary to communicate with the manufacturer and verify the feasibility based on the gas composition.

4、 Requirements of the unit for coke oven gas

1. Coke oven gas temperature ≤ 40 ℃;

2. The pressure of coke oven gas is 3-10kPa, and the rate of pressure change is ≤ 1kPa/min;

3. The volume content of hydrogen in coke oven gas is ≤ 60%;

4 H2S≤200mg/Nm3；

5 NH3≤20mg/Nm3；

6. Tar content ≤ 50mg/Nm3;

7. Impurity particle size ≤ 5 μ m, impurity content ≤ 30mg/Nm3;

The moisture content in coke oven gas is ≤ 40g/Nm3.

5、 Requirements of the crew for the gas in the generator

1. Gas temperature of the generator is ≤ 40 ℃;

2. The gas pressure of the generator is 3-10kPa, and the rate of pressure change is ≤ 1kPa/min;

3 H2S≤200mg/Nm3；

4 NH3≤20mg/Nm3；

5. Tar content ≤ 50mg/Nm3;

6. Impurity particle size ≤ 5 μ m, impurity content ≤ 30mg/Nm3;

7. The moisture content in the generator gas is ≤ 40g/Nm3;

8. Gas calorific value ≥ 4.2MJ/Nm3.

6、 Requirements of the crew for straw gas

1. Straw gas temperature ≤ 40 ℃;

2. Straw pressure is 3-10kPa, with a pressure change rate of ≤ 1kPa/min;

3 H2S≤200mg/Nm3；

4 NH3≤20mg/Nm3；

5. Tar content ≤ 20mg/Nm3;

6. Impurity particle size ≤ 5 μ m, impurity content ≤ 30mg/Nm3;

7. The moisture content in straw gas is ≤ 40g/Nm3;

8. Gas calorific value ≥ 4.2MJ/Nm3.

7、 Requirements of the crew for shale gas from oil source

1. The temperature of oil shale gas shall not exceed 40 ℃;

2. Oil shale gas pressure is 3-10kPa, with a pressure change rate of ≤ 1kPa/min;

3 H2S≤200mg/Nm3;

4 NH3≤20mg/Nm3;

5. Tar content ≤ 50mg/Nm3;

6. Impurity particle size ≤ 5 μ m, impurity content ≤ 30mg/Nm3;

7. The moisture content in oil shale gas shall not exceed 40g/Nm3;

8. Gas calorific value ≥ 4MJ/Nm3.
